MATTHEW SCOTT MYERS
Matthew Scott Myers left college with an English degree and dreams of drinking and writing. Instead, he wound up traveling the US and Europe in what he describes as a “middling, floundering, rock n’ roll band.”
Somewhere along the way, he picked up some cheap oils and began teaching himself the fine art of painting. Scott’s love for music has never left him, and he describes what he has been doing for the last decade as “dancing while he paints.”
In the last year, his work has blossomed into a wistful combination that is part Realism and part play on color. Scott’s painting style varies from saturated Realism to a modern take on Impressionism.
Through his art, Scott seeks to capture the vibrant world he witnesses around him. More than anything, Scott hopes his renderings portray the earth in a joyful manner. Providence Gallery is proud to represent Scott Myers as he emerges as a recognized talent on the art scene in the southeastern United States.
