North Carolina painter Cinthia Griffin specializes in oil media, with a strong
emphasis on application and color. Her style is recognized through deft pallet
knife use, leaving rough, but restrained edges in her still life subjects. Though
florals and still lifes are her primary subjects, Griffin occasionally paints
“enplein aire,” (outside) in an effort to capture the beauty of the Carolina countryside. Her inspirations
are drawn from nature, her gardens, and travels through the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Her former work as a designer is a valuable asset to her creation of strong, yet
simple paintings, restful to the eye.
Cinthia has studied under the teaching of nationally recognized artists Andy
Braitman, Curt Butler, and Angela Nesbit. She currently resides in North Carolina.
