KATHY BUIST
Kathy Buist paints a vastly different landscape from New York City, where she
has lived for a decade. Each of her paintings covey a reverence for the earth,
which manifests itself in a sensual way. Her work plays on the elemental values
of earth, water, and light, to capture the spirit of each environment, Buist tries
to explore the transformational qualities of light, using it's nuances found in
morning, afternoon, and evening, to embody a moment in time.
Kathy Buist's work has won praise from The New York Times, and has been exhibited in The Parrish Art Museum, The Museum of Southhampton,
The National Women's Museum in Washington, D.C., and the Long Island Museum. She
also received acclaim in Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine as of "Today's Masters, Artists to Watch."
Buist has been artist in residence at centers in Vermont and Virginia and her
work is found in many international, private collections. She also has the distinct
honor of being listed in the "Who's Who in American Art."
